The main function of the lightning protection system installed on the existing building is to capture a lightning stroke and then conduct discharge current safety to the ground.
Lightning Protection is becoming a necessity for any and all industries across the world. The rate, frequency and strength of lightning strikes along with storms are increasing.
To effectively protect  people and buildings we offer  professional lightning systems called GROMOSTAR and OMEGA. The main feature of GROMOSTAR/OMEGA is its particular attribute based on early formation of ionization compared to other elements of protected object. This results in targeting the lightning current flow directly to the lightning rod, and then down-conductor towards the ground.

GROMOSTAR and OMEGA LPS (ESE) protects people and property from the effects of direct lightning strike in public utility facilities, industrial buildings, residential houses and open areas.

ADVANTAGES of the lightning protection system GROMOSTAR/OMEGA compared with traditional installments:

Higher effectiveness – all the elements under the ‘dome’, including aerials and ornaments on the roof are protected. In case of a traditional installation protruding elements are exposed to a lightning strike and thus the whole building is endangered.

The protection zone determined by the GROMOSTAR/OMEGA lightning conductor is several times larger than in case of a traditional protection system. The reduced time of lightning current flow between the head and the ground minimizes the risk of a fire, caused by a lightning strike on the lightning rod running on the roof (especially wooden or other susceptible to fire).

The use of the lightning conductor GROMOSTAR/OMEGA significantly decreases the number of possible electromagnetic coupling between the lightning conductor and the electrical wires, and thus it reduces the induced overvoltage in high and low voltage circuits. Due to fewer downconductors interfacing with the ground, it is possible to easily get ‘neutral’ zones (safe from surge) for the elements or spaces significant for the user, e.g. server rooms.

Comparison of different methods of protection against lightning strikes

Types of lightning protection due to structure:

  • simple vertical lightning conductor of Franklin type,
  • meshed cage installation (Faraday cage),
  • tight strand,
  • natural environment,
  • Early Streamer Emission lightning conductor, the so-called active lightning protection.
